How to clear your browser cache

Clearing your browser cache can help resolve various browsing issues, including loading or formatting problems on websites. Below are instructions for clearing the cache on some of the most popular web browsers:

Google Chrome (Desktop)

  • Hold down Shift and click the refresh button.

Alternatively:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (macOS).
  2. Select Cached images and files.
  3. Click Clear data.

Google Chrome (Mobile)

  1. Menu > History > Clear browsing data.
  2. Select Cached images and files.
  3. Tap Clear data.

Safari (Desktop)

  • Hold down Option and click the refresh button.

Alternatively:

  1. Safari > Preferences > Advanced.
  2. Check Show Develop menu in menu bar.
  3. Develop > Empty Caches.

Safari (Mobile)

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
  3. Confirm Clear History and Data.

Mozilla Firefox (Desktop)

  • Hold down Shift and click the refresh button.

Alternatively:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (macOS).
  2. Select Cached Web Content.
  3. Click Clear.

Mozilla Firefox (Mobile)

  1. Menu > Settings > Delete browsing data.
  2. Select Cache.
  3. Tap Delete browsing data.

Microsoft Edge (Desktop)

  • Hold down Shift and click the refresh button.

Alternatively:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
  2. Select Cached images and files.
  3. Click Clear now.

Microsoft Edge (Mobile)

  1. Menu > Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data.
  2. Select Cached images and files.
  3. Tap Clear.
